MY BREAKDOWN

It would be very easy for a BCS bowl game to pick Arkansas over the Wildcats if it came down to those two teams, but I do think there are some advantages for K-State if you look deep enough.

Arkansas has the most recent loss (assuming KSU knocks off Iowa State next week), and it wasn’t a pretty one. Giving up a 14-0 lead and then losing 41-17 won’t impress many people, even if it’s against the top-ranked team.

This was Arkansas’ last game of the regular season, and K-State will get its shot at the last word next week. BCS voters are known for having short memories. Could be a factor.

As far as an actual breakdown of the two teams goes, the Hogs are more talented. They are more balanced and have more weapons. On the other hand, Bill Snyder has won plenty of games against teams like that.

Lastly, if the BCS considers how fans would travel to the Sugar Bowl, keep in mind that K-State is known for having one of the best-traveling fan bases in the country.

There’s still lots of football before anything is set in stone, but it’s never too early to try to figure things out.

A thought on the reaction of Aggie fans to tonight’s loss

A large…very large number of Texas A&M fans are declaring that they are done supporting Aggie football in any way, shape or form until Mike Sherman and most of his assistants are fired. They will not go to games, wear maroon and white, or show any excitement for the program until those changes are made.

My thoughts on this are:
Really, A&M fans? You claim your school is the perfect fit for the SEC and then you do this? Southern football fans are known for one thing above all – being a fan through thick and thin. Supporting their school until death. And the Aggies think it’s okay to abandon the program?

Look, if what had happened to Texas A&M this year had happened at K-State, we’d all be angry. Plain and simple. But would we stop sporting the colors? Supporting the school we have a family-like relationship with? Hell no. Shame on the Aggies. Hope they get what’s coming to them.

Chalk Choke up another loss for the Ags in a demoralizing season.
